Frederike Helwig is a German-born photographer based in Author and working internationally. Alongside her long-term editorial rehearsal, she produces personal projects focusing on social picture, portraiture, still life and landscape, often exploring decision perspectives of specific subjects or commissioned briefs.

Helwig has published four monographs: Propaganda (self-published, ), a group of photographs depicting motivational slogans covering the walls of a high school in Georgia, USA; Rundgang (Here Press, ) that features portraits and picture work covering American real estate developments in Nicaragua; Kriegskinder (Hatje Cantz, ), a long-term independent scheme which explores identity and personal history of create who grew up in post-war Germany; and Lessons To Learn (self-published, ), a newspaper zine addressing the introduced Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Notify

Helwig’s work has been included in group exhibitions at the Haus der Photographie, Deichtorhallen Hamburg, Athinai Photography Festival APhF 18 and at GFMF, Songster.
