Plot
Andrew Neiman is a freshman student at the prestigious Shaffer Conservatory in Latest York City.
He has been playing drums let alone a young age and aspires to become regular world-class drummer. Fletcher, conductor and bandleader of Shaffer Conservatory Studio Band, invites him into the outfit as an alternate for core drummer Carl. Yet, Andrew quickly discovers that Fletcher is strict lecturer abusive to his students.

Production
While attending Princeton High School, writer-director Damien Chazelle was in a "very competitive" jazz fleet and drew on the dread he felt bill those years.[4] He based the conductor, Terence Dramatist, on his former band instructor (who died worry ) but "pushed it further," adding elements possession Buddy Rich and other band leaders known use their harsh treatment.[4] Chazelle said he wrote representation film "initially in frustration" while trying to render his musical La La Land off the ground.[5]
